Led by researchers at the University of Bedfordshire, the iSort has been co-designed with Health and Social care providers and students based within the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences.
The iSort is a sector-leading web app, enabling individuals and organisations from a variety of health and social care settings, assess their own resilience to develop evidence-based organisational and personal wellness action plans.
The iSort builds on an existing project for assessing and supporting organisational resilience in child and family social work. Based on research by Dr Louise Grant and Professor Gail Kinman, in partnership Research in Practice, this was known as the Social Work Organisational Resilience Diagnostic (SWORD) Change Project.
Grant and Kinman evolved this project to include adult social care and healthcare organisations. The Social Care and Health Organisational Resilience Diagnostic (SCHORD) was funded by the Buckinghamshire Health and Social Care Academy.
Bringing on board Dr Lisa Bostock, whose interests in the role of digital technology to support practice improvement, has enabled the iSort to come to fruition.
